I got a Macbook Air (2017) a few months ago and i've been thinking about playing The Sims 4 on it. Will i be able to play it without my Mac overheating (too much) or the game crashing/lagging? I am able to smoothly run other 'heavy' software on it (like after effects, which i was told wouldn't work well). Depends on which Mac Mini you get. The Core Duo machines are incompatible with Sims 4; those only work up to Sims 3. As a baseline, you need a Core 2 Duo. Since you need a compatible GPU (9400M or better or an equivalent AMD card) or X3100 graphics, this rules out a cheap machine - you'll need something with more cable graphics. If you have been previously playing the game in Windows, and you want to move your saves over to your Mac installation, simply copy and paste the Windows Sims 4 Saves folder (Documents Electronic Arts The Sims 4 saves) into the Documents Electronic Arts The Sims 4 folder on your Mac.
Hi i recently purchased a 13' macbook air and i love it because it is very fast at loading. I really want to download the sims 4 and expansion packs/add ons which i had on my previous laptop that wasn't apple but I'm scared that the game won't work properly or be really slow or it might slow down my computer. The MacBook can run the Sims 4, but it will be in low settings for everything. The best Mac for Sims 4, I think, is the 13' MacBook Pro Retina. But we are still talking medium settings. The 15' MacBook Pro can handle high settings. But its kinda pricy.

Since we play a lot of video games, but since two of our computers are Macs, we figured out how to play PC games on a Mac, too!
Can You Play Sims 4 On A Macbook Air
The first thing you need to do is to Bootcamp your Mac. This isn't some silly workaround. Apple actually has instructions for how to bootcamp your Mac on their website and the software is already installed on your computer. So you don't need to worry about security and all that.
We bought a copy of The Sims™ 4 at Wal-Mart in their PC gaming section.
We were so excited to install, I barely even got a picture of it before it got ripped away from me! HAH!
Once you've set up you Mac to to boot in Windows mode, just hold down control and start your computer! Click the drive you named 'Windows' and your Mac will boot up in Windows mode so you can play The Sims™ 4!
Install the game according to the instructions on the insert inside the game.
Insert the disc into your cd drive, and this will pop up:
You will be playing The Sims™ 4 on your Mac in no time at all!
One thing that might you hang you up is ejecting a cd when you're in Windows mode. Here's how you do it.
